A Picture Story- Part Two

So here's more.

This is the main road to which we walk to catch buses, etc. It's Finchley Road. The tube station we use, not surprisingly, is Finchley Road Station.

On our walking tour, the very first day in town. We're walking to West Hampstead.

A double-decker bus, with an HP ad!

It's the media box of Lords Cricket Ground. The ground is about two tube stops away from
where I stay.

On our bus tour now. A brief glimpse at Harrods.

Royal Albert Hall. Bear in mind, it's being taken from a bus. I haven't had a chance to go back and visit to get better pictures.

Buckingham Palace. I plan to go back and visit when it opens to the public later this month.

The clock tower that houses Big Ben. Only the bell is Big Ben, technically.

A view down the Thames. There's the London Eye and Parliament.

A better view of Parliament, the clock tower, and Westminster Abbey.

I can't quite capture St. Paul's Cathedral from the ground. This is the best I could do.

The Tower of London. I absolutely plan to go there. They have some really interesting Henry VIII stuff going on, including festivals.

Tower Bridge. Which is not the same as London Bridge. I confess I didn't know that until now.

Nelson's Column at Trafalgar Square. It's a pity it wasn't brighter that day; these pictures would have been better.

There's those for now.

  1. The Lords Cricket ground and Royal Albert hall caught my interest. Many Indian music greats have performed at Royal Albert Hall. The one's I remember being mentioned are Lata Mangeshkar and Chitra and Jagjit Singh

  2. Shraddha,

We are really impressed with your visit thus far(and not just a little envious!). London is such a wonderful place to explore. Your notes and photos bring back many fond memories of our times in the city. We are glad that you had a chance to see Warhorse. We have good friends who go to London every year to see a marathon of plays. They just returned a couple of weeks ago and saw 11 plays in 18 days. Of all those plays the one that stood out the most was Warhorse. Like you, they were mesmerized by the horse. We can’t wait for the next installment. Martin & Patsy
